Mario Penge
As Founder of Vini Italia, I currently work with a genuine passion for wine to support customers and develop successful, long-term partnerships across the UK.
Born in Italy and raised in London, my passion for wine led me to build a career focused on long-term partnerships, brand growth, and commercial strategy.
After completing my education, I developed my technical knowledge through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), before progressing through account management roles at Hallgarten and Enotria. These early positions gave me a strong grounding in portfolio management, customer engagement, and the importance of delivering value at every level of the supply chain.
I later joined Bibendum Wine as a Business Development Manager, followed by senior national account roles at Mondial Wine where I managed key customers and helped drive sustainable growth in competitive markets. Time spent working with Tenimenti Santa Francesca also deepened my understanding of wine production and the stories behind the brands I represent.
Paolo Cianci
Born in Italy and shaped by a career that spans London, New York, and some of the world’s most exciting wine regions, I’ve spent over four decades working alongside leading Masters of Wine, influential importers, and respected authors.
What began as a hobby in the early 1980s grew into a lifelong journey through the global wine trade - from cellar floors to international markets, collaborations, and industry‑recognised achievements.
Along the way, I completed the WSET Advanced Certificate (Level 3), appeared on the BBC’s The Great Antique Hunt with Jilly Goolden, and launched the George Best Wines range in partnership with the legendary footballer.
